Sports AcupunctureSports Acupuncture is an integration of:
• Modern sports medicine and orthopedic assessment
• Modern and traditional acupuncture
• Corrective exercises
The combination is a comprehensive approach to treating pain, sports injuries and postural imbalances as well as enhance athletic performance.
Kinesiology TapingThe Kinesio Taping Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of acupuncture and/or massage therapy administered.
Kinesio Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.
Recovery Boots:Recovery pumps deliver a natural alternative to recovery for athletes. Our system simulates active recovery (such as walking) in a passive manner because the therapy is conducted at rest.
This therapy increases venous return, rapidly accelerating the body's reabsorption of elements causing soreness and fatigue in muscles.
It effectively removes metabolic waste faster than any traditional mode of recovery or rest alone.
Treatments range from 30min-60min.
Rapid ReleaseRapid Release is a piece of equipment we use on a regular basis with our patients that have soft tissue injuries. It works by:
• Vibrating at a specific frequency and helps break down scare tissue and knots.
• Stimulates the Tonic Vibration Reflex which quickly relaxes muscles that are in spasm or guarding due to an injury.
• Reduces Hypoxia (lack of oxygen). Muscles need oxygen to release. Without ample amounts of oxygen, a certain percentage of muscles never fully unlock.
The rapid release is a painless and very effective modality we use during acupuncture sessions
IASTMIs a soft tissue technique used in conjunction with Sports Acupuncture to loosen up tight muscles, break down scar tissue & increase blood flow to an injured area.

Dimitri Boules LAc, LMT, CPT, CES, CPEAs a New York State licensed Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist, Dimitri takes a holistic approach with his patients—tailoring treatments to individual conditions and needs. He began working in the health field as an Astoria-based personal trainer in 2006.
While he very much enjoyed helping people who wanted to improve their health and fitness levels, he quickly recognized that the majority of his clients suffered from chronic pain or medical conditions. They viewed pharmaceutical drugs and/or surgery as the only treatment options but Dimitri knew there were better alternatives and decided to continue his education.
After obtaining his personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, he continued his education at New York College of Health Professions where he completed his associate degree of occupational studies in Massage Therapy and his bachelors and masters degrees in Acupuncture.
He also completed a holistic health counseling program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Dimitri continues his education by attending seminars and reading the latest research in massage therapy, acupuncture and holistic health.
Today, his blend of traditional and sports acupuncture, massage therapy, corrective exercises, and posture rehabilitation truly addresses the root cause of dysfunction and not just the symptoms.
Dimitri is experienced dealing with a wide range of conditions and concerns but specializes in Sports Medicine and Orthopedics.
