Week 5, starting to figure out double unders..

almost-have-double-unders

It was an exciting start to the CrossFit Open. We saw the infamous dumbbells make their debut in the Open in the form of an alternating single arm snatch. As a gym we were incredibly prepared for this movement and it showed with our amazing overall effort. Let’s take a look at how we did as a box.

RECAP

Week 5 was a test of commitment, a work out “For Time” that you had to finished. However, in order to finish you had to show up, and many of us failed to do so. Week 1 we started off with 97% participation rate and we ended with a 70% participation rate. 27% of CrossFit Bell athletes didn’t finish the Open and that’s a shame. We’ve been running a successful training program for almost 5 years now and I can tell you without a shadow of doubt and a tremendous amount of data to back it up, the athletes who consistently show up have the most success. At the end of the day you have to come in and you have to give it your best effort.

If there is anything I urge you to work on in the off-season it’s your commitment to the program. If you regularly come twice a week, try to up it to three, you’ll see a noticeably improvement in your overall fitness.
